The Future of Essential Oils
The year is 2008. The food you are eating is different from
the food of the good ole days of the 1990's. Everything looks
the same, but inside things are different. The lettuce and
green pepper you're munching on have been genetically changed.
The lettuce is packed with beef protein and the green
Genetic engineering, as it is called, is the hot topic within
food production and research circles. The corporate giant that
is spearheading this massive change in our food supply is
Monsanto.
Monsanto hopes to produce such things as Canola oil high in beta
carotene, and potatoes that absorb less oil in the course of becoming
french fries. However, many unanswered questions have been raised that
voice concerns. Genetically engineered, nutrient enriched foods may
well alter other aspects of produce and grains, which can adversely
impact, not improve our food.
Another problem is that Monsanto is genetically altering the
structure of plants so that the seeds they produce are sterile.
By throwing seeds that are sterile, Monsanto hopes to eventually
control the world's grain and vegetable production. Every Farmer
and home gardener should pay close attention to what is happening.
This insidious technology must be stopped before it gets a foot
hold. Farmers in India and Ecuador are fighting back. In India,
farmers have burned Monsanto test fields that were growing the
sterile plants. Ecuadorian Farmers have made a declaration
coming out against genetic seed technology, but there is little
else going on to oppose it. But wherever they are, people are
saying, not in my backyard, whenever they are given the facts.

Then ... What is the future of essential oils? What changes in
our culture will hasten the spread and use of nature's amazing
healing oils? The 21st Century holds many changes. Essential
oils will play a major role in the next century as one of mankind's

side effects from these same drugs prescribed by their
doctors...Over 2 million of them were bad enough to be

"health" system that promotes using them are part of the
problem, not the solution.

THE FUTURE OF ESSENTIAL OILS
If you are in the business of sharing precious oils with others
in your life, you know that special feeling you get, as you watch
people discover the inherent power within essential oils to change
their lives. There is a joy and sense of accomplishment, knowing you
have touched lives, given hope and have passed on an ancient knowledge
little understood in today's world.
This ancient knowledge, once lost to the ages, has since been
found and is making its way into the hearts of millions of people. An
age of self-care is emerging. The effect of this movement will change
how people view health and healing for years to come. Here are a few
observations and discoveries I believe will take place within the next
20 years.
MEDICINE:
Medicine in the 21st century will drastically change from how
we know it today. The sense of dependence on professionally
trained physicians to care for us will diminish, as people
discover their own independence to care for themselves.
When it's over, history will regard the latter half of the
20th century as the "Black Age" of modern medicine. Physicians
who rely on chemical drugs (that now kill over a 100,000 people
a year) are losing vast numbers of patients to physicians who
treat the whole person (body, mind and soul) with a diversity of
natural modalities, each tailored to individual needs. Essential
oils are destined to play a major role in this development as
this new era of medicine unfolds.
ESSENTIAL OILS USED AS MONEY:
Economic pressures caused by depressions and social unrest will
create a change in what we perceive has value. Essential oils
will play an increasingly important role as the public begins
to consider the oils as a kind of money, used as barter in
exchange for goods and services.
As this phenomenon grows, the cost of essential oils will
escalate as demand outstrips supply. Imagine trading essential
oils for land. This will happen because essential oils are the
most powerful, natural healing substances known to man. They
represent the perfect substance for health-conscious, independent
minded people. Not only do essential oils heal, they have the ability
to protect us from lethal microorganisms as well. As the need for
self-care increases, the need for these precious oils will reach
all-time highs. It is only a matter of time before the masses become
aware of essential oils, which will rapidly increase demand.
SHORTAGES:
As demand for the oils increases, shortages will rapidly occur.
Even now there are world shortages of Helichrysum italicum, and
Santalum album (sandalwood). Because the shelf life of most
essential oils can last for years, people will stock-pile them,
even as some are doing now.
The finest and most expensive oils will be the first to disappear from
the open market. Take Bulgarian rose otto for instance. It is one of
the finest and most expensive rose oil one can buy. This rose oil is
beautifully complex, expensive, and already one of the most sought
after oils on the market. Rightfully so, for it has been utilized in
medicine throughout the ages for menstrual problems, headaches,
nervous tension, eye infections and skin abnormalities. It is
extracted from the damask rose, which can only be cultivated in a
mountainous region approximately 240 square miles in area and at 1,300
feet above sea level. It takes 30 roses to make a single drop of
Bulgarian rose otto, and 60,000 roses to make one ounce (from Robert
B. Tisserand). There is no way this oil could satisfy world needs
should the world discover it's therapeutic value.
As shortages occur, unknowledgable people will unknowingly buy
inferior oils, and oils with similar (common) sounding names.
Helichrysum is now one such oil, which some people insist they
can now supply. But what they do not tell you is that there are
different kinds of helichrysum. The variety in world-wide shortage is
Helichrysum italicum. (Make sure the seller stipulates what variety
they are offering.) Always ask for the full latin name of the plant the
oil was derived from to avoid this problem. Make sure the full latin
name appears on the label.
NEW APPLICATIONS:
How essential oils are used will change dramatically in the
U.S. As a general rule, application is now limited to either
diffusing or rubbing the oil onto the surface of the skin. But
as people experiment and learn the habits of the oils, other
more effective means of application will become common place.
- Oral Infusion and Rectal Implants:
Physicians know the most effective point of delivery, aside from
direct injection into the blood vein is through what is called
mucosa absorption. Two points of entry where mucosa absorption
occurs is in the inner lining of the mouth and rectum. At these
points of entry, delivery of essential oils into the blood stream is
90% more efficient than traditional pills or capsules, and twice as
efficient as sublingual application. The reason is that the oil's
active ingredients are able to enter the blood stream directly through
the mucosal membrane of the mouth or rectum, without being first
filtered or broken down by the liver and digestive organs. The same
principle is at work when applying the oils topically, but it is not
as efficient.
Even now, people are learning to place a drop of oil under their
tongue (sublingual) for faster, more efficient delivery to the
blood stream. While sublingual application is not as efficient
as using an oral spray, it none-the-less is more efficient than
topical application. Most certainly, oral infusion and rectal
implants of essential oils will one day be common place.
NOTE: DO NOT USE ESSENTIAL OILS ORALLY OR RECTALLY
unless you have some knowledge of expected results and/or
anticipated reaction. Not all oils are safe to use in this
manner.
Typically, sublingual application is made by placing a drop
of oil on a cotton swab or finger tip, then transferring the
oil to under the tongue. Do not swallow or move your tongue
for one minute to allow time for absorption to occur.
- Essential Oils Will Re-program DNA to End Addictions:
More and more science is learning that addictions of all sorts
are attributed to DNA encoding within the human cell structure.
This is the reason it is likely offspring of addictive parents
will become addicts themselves.
So science has been studying DNA encoding very closely. The
theory states ... change DNA coding and eliminate addiction.
Is this possible? Yes, it is.
Essential oils will cause a medical revolution when it becomes
known they literally can erase DNA memory and will re-program
helix encoding. It will be learned that by ending an acidic
condition using essential oils, it can cause the cell's RNA
helix to spin together with the essential oil helix in the
opposite direction of its normal spin, thus erasing the previous
genetic record...re-programming it in the process. When the
RNA helix later spins with the new DNA helix to transcribe this
new information, the addictive gene carried by the older DNA
parent is missing, thus ending the cycle to satisfy an unwanted
need.
Re-programming DNA occurs cell by cell, and so positive results
will slowly be realized over a period of time, as the new DNA
encoding eventually dominates the body's cell structure.
You've heard the commercial slogan, "Come alive with the Pepsi
generation?" The next generation will be saying, "Come alive
with the essential oil generation."
- Essential Oil and Mood Management:
Science is learning how human beings respond to odors. They
are discovering that certain odors trigger physical changes in
the brain. Licensed therapists, clinical psychiatrists, and
other practitioners in the future will calm hyperactive,
stressed and emotionally distressed patients through diffusion
and dispersion of essential oils into the atmosphere. The
implications here are staggering as the use of essential oils
replaces the use of unsafe drugs such a Ritalin.
SUMMARY:
I realize some of these predictions may seem off in the deep
end to some, but there are a growing number of scientists and
researchers who have looked into the future ... and what they
have seen are essential oils playing an increasingly important
role in mankind's future.
This will not be the first time essential oils have played
such important roles in the daily life of humans. In the book
of Genesis, Chapter 37, Verse 25 it reads;
"As they sat down to eat their meal, they looked up and saw a
caravan of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead. Their camels were
loaded with spices, balm and myrrh, and they were on their
way to take them down to Egypt."
Once before in ancient history, humans knew the value of
plant oils. An entire industry revolved around them thousands
of years before the birth of Christ. That industry and
technology unfortunately was lost to us for thousands of years.
It wasn't until this century that modern science began
examining plant oils for their healing qualities.
Today, we know essential oils well enough to realize they embody
mankind's essential needs for protection from infectious disease, and
that they are causing a revolution in health care. Let me encourage
you to become acquainted with essential oils, and make them a daily
part of your family's regime.
